Have You Ever Wondered Why Our Health Spa is Called “Mosaic”?

If you’ve ever stepped through the doors of Mosaic Massage and Float Center, or if you’ve been following our journey for a while, you might have wondered where our name came from.
Like many meaningful things in life, the name Mosaic wasn’t chosen just because it sounded nice. It was born out of a deeply personal turning point in my life, and it carries the exact promise we make to every client who visits our alternative health spa: “Putting the pieces together For A Picture of Total Health.”
To understand why that mission means so much to me, we have to go back to the spring of 2005.
The Turning Point: When Medicine Felt Fragmented
In 2005, my life took an unexpected turn. During a routine medical visit, my doctor discovered a tumor on my pituitary gland. What followed was an exhausting six-month blur of appointments, referrals, and conversations with different medical specialists. Each professional was incredibly smart, but each was hyper-focused on only one specific part of my body.
In the middle of that already stressful journey, I developed a complicated cyst on one of my ovaries, which led me to an OB/GYN oncology specialist. I remember sitting in that office, looking at the specialist, and asking a simple but important question: Could the pituitary tumor have caused this cyst? The response I received stayed with me forever. The doctor looked at me and said, "I only know the female reproductive system."
Connecting the Pieces
At the time, I worked as a medical coder. Because of my background, I understood something deeper about human biology—I knew that the body doesn't function in isolated compartments. Everything is connected.
Yet, throughout my entire healthcare experience, I didn't feel like I was being treated as a whole person. I was being treated as separate, disconnected pieces, depending entirely on which specialist's office I happened to be sitting in. It was frustrating, it was isolating, and it made me realize something vital: I couldn't be the only person who felt this way.
That realization became the spark for a new vision. I decided I wanted to create a space that did things differently. I wanted to build an alternative health spa that looked at the full, beautiful picture of a person's life and wellness.
That vision became Mosaic Massage and Float Center.
Why "Mosaic"?
A mosaic is a piece of art created by bringing together many different, unique fragments. On their own, those fragments might just look like broken stones or glass. But when they are intentionally placed together, they create something whole, stunning, and complete.
True holistic wellness is exactly the same. It isn’t just about one thing. It’s made up of many different pieces—physical recovery, mental relief, emotional stress reduction, and spiritual peace. At Mosaic, I have brought together a variety of alternative health modalities under one roof.
Our Promise to You: Total Health
What began as a difficult and frightening chapter in my life became the foundation for something incredibly meaningful. Today, that experience continues to guide everything we do at Mosaic Massage and Float Center.
My goal has always been simple: to help people feel truly seen, supported, and cared for as a whole person—not just as a symptom, a diagnosis, or a body part.
You are not a collection of isolated pieces. You are a whole person, and you deserve care that connects those pieces, rather than separating them. If you’re ready to start putting the pieces together for your own picture of total health, our doors are always open to you.

With care,
Gina | Owner, Mosaic Massage and Float Center
